Berber Styled Destination Wedding in Marrakech | Morocco

This time I want to present you a wedding that has become a legend for me. It took place at one of the coolest locations of Marrakech - Beldi Country Club, located on the outskirts of city in my beloved Morocco. It took place in the last August. The venue was decorated in my favourite Berber style. The weather was perfect, we expected a huge heat, but even a few drops of rain fell and the sky was slightly overcast, which gave us a beautiful effect in the pictures. The couple chose Morocco because they had beautiful memories of this country before and they fell in love with its culture. Together with guests they came from Great Britain. The wedding was preceded by totally relaxed pool party the day before. On the wedding day everyone moved to Beldi estate, where the bride prepared separately with her lovely braidsmaids. Her silk Bon Bride gown was designed by Bride's best friend, present at the wedding ( the British brand BonBride) and silk underwear, which the bride put on during the preparations. Extraordinary shoes studded mules from Carvela and also studded cross earrings by LA designer called Victoria Chapman. The ceremony was in the most beautiful greenhouse surrounded by vines and palms, there were woven baskets filled with white rose petals. The dinner was in the riad filled with candles and typical Moroccan lamps above. The table decor was very simple and matched to the raw Berber style and botanical surroundings. There were no flowers on the tables. Instead, there were huge green palm leaves, which, together with a dry bouquet, were made by the local company Le Kiosque à Fleurs à Marrakech. A couple of elements were DIY made at home including menus made by hand and some Vinyl printed for the order of the day + cocktail menu put onto huge vintage mirrors that were lying around the Beldi grounds. The couple didn’t have some of the more traditional items like wedding cake and instead they focused their budget on the food and entertainment, which they found as more memorable. So they had delicious tagines served in traditional pots with couscous , fire eaters during the cocktail hour, shisha pipes. They wanted to incorporate into their destination wedding some special Moroccan traditions as bellydancers after dinner. Intstead of a first dance they did it Moroccon style and entered on Palenquins! They chose a Morrocan song whilst they entered on the palenquins which their own friend DJ spun into ‘I’m every woman’ by Whitney Houston:)
