Top Venues to get married in Marrakech | Morocco
There are several cities that are worth visiting in Morocco such as Fez (Fes), Essaouira, Casablanca, Chefchaouen, Tangier, Quarzazat, Aït Benhaddou, Merzouga that can be considered for your wedding location, but this time I will recommend you my favorite one, the one I know best, that is “red city” Marrakech ( also called Marrakesh).
Marrakech is the only such city in the world. If you decide to get married there, you have a chance that your destination wedding will be pure magic remembered as a fairy tale from 1001 nights.
This is what i feel when i think of Moroccan journeys.
I have been returning to Morocco regularly in recent years, now I work there several times a year so I have been learning the country, people and culture always better and better.
Marrakech it is the city which lies in the heart of Morocco in Northern Africa. It is a multicultural place where tradition is combined with modernity. It has a great history worth knowing and best seeing with your own eyes. Located on the edge of the desert, near the Atlas Mountains, it attracts wanderers from distant African countries. The name of the city has its origins in the Berber word Murakush, which means God's land.
Many couples are unable to choose from these rich options, so they build their multi-day wedding schedule around staying at the riad where they plan to prepare, then take a taxi to the Agafay Desert for a symbolic sunset ceremony, then have their rehearsal party with night in one of the luxury camps under the stars, and the day after wedding they organise a pool party or any other kind of celebration in one of Marrakech's many palaces with spacious gardens.
Instead of the desert venues, you can also choose one of the Atlas venues where you will stay in nature, close to mountains and greenery, but away from the hustle and bustle of the city between the amazing raw surroundings of Berber architecture.
If you want something intimate and don't want to leave the city, you can stop at the riad in the heart of the Medina and take an intimate elopement there by the pool or on the rooftop. With the view of the minarets and the chant of the muezzin calling for a prayer. It's an unforgettable experience!!!
Riads are exceptional places in the maze of Marrakech old city. They are beautiful houses (originally Moroccans) which have now been turned into hotels and b & b. The interiors of these houses are organized around a central patio open to the sky. The architecture of the patio amazes with its charm. In the central patio there is usually a water pool or splashing fountain, there are palm and banana trees filled with birdsong. Only a door opens onto a narrow street of Medina.
Wherever you go, expect extraordinary kindness and hospitality from local people who will treat you with a big heart and please with Moroccan food. Moroccan cuisine is one of the most interesting among the Arab cuisines. You can try a soup called harira. It's a soup made of fresh coriander, lentils, beans and lamb. Very tasty. There are different meats, laid out on tables or in pots. You can find them under the name tagine. For dessert, ghoriba is served, i.e. cookies with almonds or sesame seeds with the addition of kufasa. Moroccans prepare a mixture of green tea (usually gunpowder) with mint and sugar to wash it down.
